The Federal agencies, under the 2005 Energy Policy Act, specify products with Energy Star labels as qualified to meet the Federal requirements for performance of 0.62 or higher energy factor. Check the yellow labels for Energy Guide of the product you plan to purchase and note if the annual energy use meets the 242 therms/ year or less of the Federal agencies.
