Are Solar Water Heater Efficient?

We have seen many individuals install water heating systems based on solar power. The main reason why this happens is cutting down on electricity or warm water bills. Such systems have existed for hundreds of years but it is only now that we can say they are really efficient.

Now the question that we have to ask ourselves is what makes a solar water heater system efficient.? Simply put one efficient system is a system that will offer warm water in enough quantities regularly. Even if a regular person utlizes 30 gallons daily, not all water is hot water. A lot of people think that a solar water heater will not be as effective when the days are colder and mostly effective when the days are hot.

The truth is that even during winter we can still maintain an efficiency of around 50%. This is especially true when the system will use vacuums or evacuated tubes. Now we do have a problem in the fact that different systems will not be efficient. Efficiency lacks will usually appear when the wrong materials are being used. People will try to cut down costs and unfortunately sometimes sacrifice materials used. It is definitely important to always use really good materials. Although they might be more expensive at first on a long run they will more than make it up.

Efficient materials will allow for sun heat to be better transformed into fuel for warming water. Also, different materials can also help in keeping water at least 50 degrees warm during winter. All the materials that will be used in any solar water system will have one efficiency grade. You can easily ask around or look on the Internet to see the most efficient systems. The only complicated part appears when a big house has to be covered or you want to warm the water in a swimming pool. The good news is that even this can be achieved easily and you can gain efficiency.
